How to search the database The Information Database allows you to search by using a free text search, including carrying out a separate search for documents by a particular author/s.
You may also search by governance theme; document type; country/region; and sectors - these categories may be searched individually or in combination. |

Step 1: Entering your search term: |

If you are using a free text search (including the search for documents by author/s), here are a few tips on optimising your search results: |

Try and define what you are looking for as precisely as possible, bearing in mind that the more words you use, the more accurate your search will be.

It is possible to search using a single word, a phrase or acronyms.
|
|
| |

|
| |
To search by governance theme; region/country; document type; and/or sector, click on the drop down arrow/s and select the appropriate category/ies. |

Step 2: Click on the "Search" button. |

Step 3: The search results will be displayed 10 per page. Use the "Next" and "Back" buttons to navigate through the results. Once you have selected a document summary, click on the relevant document title. |

Step 4: You will then be taken to the full document summary page. For details on how to access the full document, see below. |

How to access the document The document summary page allows you to access the full documentation either online or through the British Library of Development Studies (BLDS) document delivery service.
When the full documentation is available online, it can be downloaded as a PDF file. In order to read PDF files, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer. This can be downloaded for free from www.adobe.com
To access the document delivery service through BLDS, click on the link. This will open up copyright form which must be printed off, signed and faxed back to BLDS. Click here to view full details on how to use this service. |
